In July 2017, the Lake District National Park became one of just over 1,000 world heritage sites, joining the esteemed company of the Grand Canyon, Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu and more. It was chosen by the UNESCO committee for its natural beauty, the literature and art inspired by it, as well as the way the landscape has been used by man for many generations.
Obtaining World Heritage status is a great boon for the area. The government has pledged to allocate resources to help protect the country’s world heritage sites, so this means the Lakes may receive more funding and investment. It also means the profile of the Lake District will be elevated around the world, hopefully bringing more tourism and business to the area.
As well as being good news for the Lake District, this is also good news for BorderLoos and Event Hire which is part of Border Group. While the business name refers to the border between England and Scotland - only a few miles from the business’ head office - they are also ideally situated to serve the Lake District just to the south. For many years, each Border Group business has carried out work in the Lake District encompassing sporting events, festivals and more.
borderloos.co.uk and ShowerHire.co.uk are especially active in the Lake District. With the rise in popularity of music festivals over the last decade or so, both businesses have been called upon to provide home comforts for festival goers in one of the UK’s most breathtaking locales. Chances are if you’ve attended an event in the Lake District you won’t have been far from either a Border Loo or shower. For the past 28 years we have been providing toilets and showers for Lake District weddings, the Keswick to Barrow walk and more.
With the recent acquisition of Show Services Group comprising Grandstands for Hire and Securifence UK, Border Group hopes to offer even more to events and businesses in the Lake District. The new additions bring Border Group a few steps closer to being a one-stop shop for events and shows in the beautiful Lake District. So whether you need toilets, showers, seating, fencing, barriers or the full range of event services, Border Group has you covered.
